NUTRITION & FOOD SERVICE

	○  Families in the part time preschool will take turns bringing snacks for the whole class. Your teacher will provide you with a snack card, suggesting what to bring. We will emphasize a variety of foods to promote good nutrition. Please reserve foods that are high in sugar for birthdays and party days. All food should be commercially prepared and sealed in the original package as mandated by state regulations.
	○  A morning and afternoon snack will be provided as part of the full time program. These snacks will also promote good nutrition.
	○  Lunch will be provided as a part of our full time program. These meals will be prepared by a state inspected facility and brought to our school. Monthly or weekly menus will be sent home with the newsletters and posted at school. Due to state regulations, children may NOT bring in their own lunches. If a child has food allergies, arrangements can be made with the Director for the proper diet for that individual.
	LUNCH BUNCH
	○  Lunch Bunch is an optional extension of the part time four-year-old class on Mondays & Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. It may be offered once per month or more, based on enrollment of at least 4 children. There is a Lunch Bunch Fee and children bring their own lunch from home.
	SPECIAL DAYS
	○  Your child's birthday is a very special day! We will arrange for you to bring a special snack as near to the date as possible to celebrate. If your child's birthday is during the summer and they will not be at school, we will arrange a date for a "half birthday" or "un-birthday" celebration.
	○  During the year there will be holiday parties. Times and dates will be on the school calendar. Room parents will be in charge of decorating, planning and implementing group games, setting up party treats and giving out favors. All parents are invited to come to each of these celebrations. If at all possible, try and find a sitter for younger siblings during the parties. It is important to focus attention on the preschool children. If you must bring siblings to these events, it is the parent’s responsibility to watch them. A sign-up sheet for party items will be posted a couple weeks before each party. Anyone may sign up to bring something if they wish.
	○  There will be other special events throughout the year such as Dad's Night, Grandparent's Day, Mother's Day Tea and more. Please watch your calendar for these dates.
